Share Jesus
We believe the Gospel is lived out through both what we say and how we show up for people.
Shaking the earth with the life-changing power and love of Jesus Christ.

Church Quake International was founded on the belief that sharing the love of Jesus Christ means caring for the whole person.

We believe the Gospel is lived out through both what we say and how we show up for people.
Feed. Care. Protect. Heal. Stand beside people when they need someone to show up.
Education, skills, opportunity, and long-term support can help create a path beyond survival.
Church Quake also serves communities in Appalachia through outreach that provides food, clothing, personal care items, household necessities, meals, and practical support.

Care for vulnerable children. Education. Health. Community. Stronger futures.
Showing up consistently with food, clothing, necessities, meals, and practical support.
The children's home began in 2017 to create something every child deserves: a safe place to sleep, regular meals, people who care, access to education, and the freedom to imagine a future.

The goal is not simply to meet an immediate need. It is to create an environment where children can grow physically, emotionally, spiritually, and academically.
A place where children can feel protected, loved, valued, and know that they belong.
Regular meals and nutritional support that help children grow, learn, and thrive.
School tuition, uniforms, books, backpacks, notebooks, supplies, and the opportunity to learn.
Access to healthcare, hygiene needs, and practical support for healthy development.
We are not simply caring for children today. We are investing in who they can become tomorrow.
Explore the Children's HomeEvery need represents something tangible: a meal, a school uniform, a book, healthcare, a safer place to live, or a skill that can help someone build a stronger future.
Current priorities should be confirmed and updated by Church Quake staff.School tuition, uniforms, books, backpacks, notebooks, and classroom supplies remain ongoing needs.
Support helps provide regular meals and nutritional care for children and, when possible, vulnerable neighbors.
Healthcare, hygiene supplies, and essential wellness needs are part of caring for the whole child.
Ongoing facility needs help create safer, more functional spaces for children, staff, and ministry work.

Support the MissionOne child entered the children's home at approximately six years old in 2017 and had reportedly never had the opportunity to attend school.

Through years of care, the child received education, regular hot meals, a safe place to call home, and people who believed in what could come next.
A home, consistent meals, and people committed to showing up.
The opportunity to attend school, learn, grow, and keep moving forward.
Years later, progress reached Haiti’s official ninth-grade national examination.
The long-term vision is empowerment: helping children and young people move from care and education into practical skills, opportunity, independence, and the ability to strengthen their own communities.
Our goal is not dependency. Our goal is empowerment.Care, protection, nutrition, healthcare, and stability.
Learning creates opportunity and opens new possibilities.
Practical training helps turn potential into real capability.
Skills can create pathways toward work, income, and independence.

Long-term vocational and life-skills opportunities may include sewing, carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, mechanics, masonry, agriculture, accounting, entrepreneurship, and other practical skills.
Church Quake's vision in Haiti is not only immediate care. Agriculture and sustainability can help create stronger long-term foundations for food, opportunity, and community development.

Agriculture can support nutrition, practical training, local development, and long-term resilience while creating opportunities for communities to build with the resources around them.
Explore AgricultureSupport opportunities that help communities strengthen access to food and practical resources.
Encourage systems that can continue producing value beyond a single moment of relief.
Food, water, land, and practical infrastructure can help create healthier foundations.
Agriculture can become both a source of nourishment and a pathway toward greater independence.
Medical outreach has been an important part of Church Quake's work in Haiti, reaching communities where children and families may have limited access to healthcare.

Medical professionals and mission members have worked with local support to help children and families receive care in communities where access may otherwise be difficult.
Qualified medical professionals can help bring care into communities where access may be limited.
The work can extend beyond the children’s home to neighboring children and families when resources allow.
Medical teams work alongside local support, including translators, to help people receive appropriate care.
Doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, dentists, pharmacists, and other licensed healthcare professionals can express interest in future qualified partnership opportunities.
Church Quake's mission also reaches communities in Appalachia, where practical support can meet people in difficult seasons with care, dignity, and consistency.
Food, clothing, personal care items, household necessities, meals, essentials, and transportation assistance can become meaningful expressions of care when people need practical help.

Meals and food assistance can help meet immediate needs for individuals and families.
Clothing, personal care items, and household necessities can provide practical dignity and support.
Transportation assistance and other basic resources can help people navigate difficult seasons.
At the center of the outreach is a simple commitment: be present, meet real needs, and love people well.
Church Quake International began with a calling to share the Gospel while responding to the real, physical needs of people.
That whole-person approach still shapes the mission today.

On June 5, 2003, Pastors Don Burkhalter and Tom Akins founded Church Quake International.
The vision was never limited to words alone. Sharing Jesus and meeting practical needs were meant to work together — loving people spiritually, physically, and personally.
Church Quake International was founded by Pastors Don Burkhalter and Tom Akins with a conviction to meet both spiritual and physical needs.
The children’s home in Haiti became a place of safety, meals, education, care, discipleship, and belonging.
The work continues across Haiti and Appalachia through care, outreach, education, medical support, practical needs, and long-term opportunity.
